Poolside / Beach Hammocks

A hammock provides the best in rest and relaxation. But when you couple a pool / beach hammock with a superb sea view, there’s no better way to leave your cares behind and get away from it all.

Listen to the waves hitting the shore; watch the surf as the fishermen return with their catch. View families splashing in the surf or at the poolside. Feel the soft sea breeze; read a book, does life get any better? It is only better if you can enjoy if from the comfort of a poolside/ beach hammock.

Types
Any hammock will work at the pool or beach. However, the sun and surf as well as the salt in the air can wear down a traditional hammock at a faster rate than if you were using it in your own home. When you consider the wind damage and the dampness that is often associated with beach and pool areas, you may prefer to purchase a hammock that has been designed specifically for use at the pool or seaside.

Pool / beach hammocks often have a tighter weave than other styles. Many utilize vinyl coated polyester rope which will tolerate the saltwater and moisture better than cotton. The polyester fibers of today are durable, yet soft and comfortable. The protective coating also protects the fibers from the damaging rays of the sun and will keep them strong and hold the colors without fading. Polyester fibers are also resistant to mildew which is often a problem in damp areas.

Always choose a breathable fabric or fibers. Breathable fabrics won’t get too hot in the sun or hold in the moistness of the surf.

Care
To make a poolside hammock last, it has been created using coated polyester with a Textilene or Elbertex finish to protect it from the elements. The protective coating allows you to jump straight from the pool to your hammock without drying off.

This type of hammock can be easily hosed off and left to dry out in the sun. We always recommend that they be washed with a mild soap and water several times during the season. Always make sure that it is clean before storing.
